Susie & Wessel – A Rockywold-Deephaven Wedding

I’m so excited to share some images from this fun and beautiful wedding.  Last summer, I had the extreme pleasure of spending the weekend at Rockywold-Deephaven (think summer camp for families) with two fantastic families to celebrate the wedding of Susie and Wessel.  There’s nothing like waking up early and getting the chance to take a dip in a fresh pond (or a late night dip for that matter).  I was completely hooked by the scenery and feel of the camp and hope to take my own family there some day.  Organizing the event was the ever-fabulous Kate Parker of Kate Parker Designs.  Hair styling was provided by Lena of Hair that Moves, and makeup by Joanne from Joya Beauty.  It’s always fun to work with such a talented team.  I was also joined by my good friend David DiNisco who helped me capture the day.

Susie got ready in a lakeside cabin:

Fishing awards and tracings of fish past bear testament to this camp’s spirit.

Susie prepares her vows:

My absolute favorite of the day:

Her attendants helping with the finishing touches:

Florals incorporated details from South Africa including feathers from Guineafowl:

Wham!  Now that’s a spot to be married!

We stepped out to do a few pics of the couple together for the first time:

The buildings around the camp provided such great inspiration:

David helped me to photograph the details at the reception while I was out with the couple:

As the sun set, we snuck out on the dock to catch a few more shots:

During dinner, I snuck out on a dock to catch a different view of the mess hall where the reception was taking place.

The adorable first dance:

This is the view that greeted me as I got back to my cabin.  Hard to resist a late night dip.  I finished off the evening in a rocking chair listening to the loons.

Thanks so much to Susie and Wessel for allowing me to take part in their lovely wedding!  Also, thanks to David DiNisco for all his help!
