I’m kicking off my 2013 by staying a little more on top of the blog. So over the next month or so, you’ll see me continue to share some of my favorite images from 2012, while weaving in some of my more current weddings. Eric and Sunny’s wedding was the perfect way to start and I’m very excited to share these images. While there was a little breeze and a slight chill to the air, the sky was deep blue and the Chanler on the Cliff Walk in Newport, RI proved to be the perfect venue for this spring wedding.
I got to know the couple back in the summer of 2012 when they arranged to have me travel to NYC (where they live) to do an engagement session. We had such a blast down there and I just loved their style and enthusiasm. (I’ll share some images from that session later this week). I knew their wedding would be an event to remember. This was my first time at the Chanler and I was having a field day exploring this gorgeous mansion and all the visual stimulation. I hope you enjoy the images I picked!
It was an all-hands-on-deck task to move Sunny’s gorgeous gown.
Love this one. Sunny’s sister is seated in the chair – and you can make out a cameo from yours truly in the mirror in the bathroom. Hi!
The beautiful bride to be:
Sunny’s mother and sister help her into her dress:
Adjusting the train:
I love this one – The mother and her two daughters.
Meanwhile, in another room Eric and the guys got ready. It’s not often that I’m able to photograph the guys as they get ready, so it was so fun to be a part of this. Here are a few of my favorites. Doesn’t this room scream MAN? I was also joined by my good friend Mark Davidson who captured this image on the left.
This is one of my favorites of the day:
Another great grab by Mark:
We headed outside for a first look and a few moments alone with the couple:
Love this one.
While I was shooting the image above, Mark was grabbing a different angle. Love this perspective.
When you’ve got wind and a view… you’ve got to use it!
I don’t often share a lot of formal images, but these guys look damn good!
Some of the details. The tree on the right would be the centerpiece of the ceremony.
Mark’s angle of Sunny walking down the isle with her father.
Hard to find a prettier spot to get married.
After the ceremony, the couple retreated to the room to sign the docs to make it official and the girls bustled Sunny’s dress.
The florals for the event were provided by Stoneblossom.
So cute during the toasts:
While everyone was munching away at dinner, I crept outside to find some interesting angles on this gorgeous mansion.
Mark caught this great angle of Sunny and Eric during a quiet moment on the dance floor:
The mansion had such great spaces for guests to relax when they needed a break from dancing.
Watching Sunny’s father on the dance floor was amazing – and here they did a reinterpretation of the father daughter dance!
Eric and Sunny – you guys know how to throw a party! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of of this intimate day and welcoming me into your family and friends. I’m glad we braved it out in the cool breeze because you guys looked great! Also, special thanks to Mark Davidson for his superb assistance. If you want to see more, check out the slideshow below:
