Julie and Ed – A Mechanics Hall Wedding

Normally the words “hurricane” and “wedding” don’t mix that well.  Unless, that is, you’re getting married in a veritable  fortress where you can simply laugh at the weather.  Enter Mechanics Hall in Worcester.  It’s a stunning venue that is one of my favorites to shoot in because it’s so visually fun.  Julie and Ed weren’t exactly excited about the weather, but in all reality – not even a hurricane could begin to dampen the spirits at their wedding (pun intended).

I arrived a bit early (before the rain began) and grabbed a few shots of Mechanics Hall in the calm before the storm.

This is a pro maneuver – champagne with a straw.  Lipstick intact.

The dressing room at Mechanics hall is much like a green room at any tv station.  It is, in fact, green!  But it’s got these great mirrors that line the entire room.

This is one of my favorite moments of the day when Julie really looked up for the first time to take in the fact that she was actually THE bride!

I was joined by Larry Sherrell for the day who caught this great snap of the guys getting ready.

The rain started to come down shortly before the ceremony.  Larry caught this great moment of Ed waiting to see Julie for the first time.

Julie in the next room over – doing the exact same thing!

Pretty adorable to see these two get so excited to see each other for the first time.

Definitely an amazing backdrop for a ceremony.

Love this one!

The first dance on a grand scale.

It’s pretty easy to see why these two get along so well.  They make each other smile and laugh all the time.

Larry had this great angle in the balcony.

The toasts:

Turns out Ed’s got a killer voice.  The band found out and pulled him up on stage!

Julie and Ed – thank you so much for inviting me to your incredibly fun wedding!  Also- thanks to Larry Sherrell for the help!  Check out the slideshow below:
