So we’re jumping back to 2013 to share with you another recent wedding. I think you’re going to love this couple and their stunning day. I met Caitlin and Ryan when photographing her sister Brianna’s beautiful Newport wedding in January (I’ll share that soon)! For a photographer, I think there are few honors that compare to photographing for a family more than once and to photograph two weddings within five months was really a treat. Both families made us feel like friends rather than hired help and it was a joy to be a part of the day. The ceremony and reception took place at the Hildene, the beautiful home of President Lincoln’s son. You’d be hard pressed to find a more beautiful place to be married. It was hard to chose only a few images, so this is a huge post, but I hope you enjoy!
The chalkboard at the inn says it all!
The girls got ready at the Inn at Ormsby Hill. Here’s a few of my favorites from the morning:
Here Briana and her father wait for Caitlin to come down the stairs. Wagers were being made on whether tears would be shed.
I was joined by my friend Mark Davidson for the day who had a killer angle of Caitlin coming down the stairs.
A few shots of Caitlin before the first look.
Caitlin and Ryan saw each other privately behind the inn:
Caitlin’s father drove his pride and joy up to drive his daughter to the ceremony.
I think they looked perfect inside!
The proud father!
The gorgeous venue:
I loved the colors of the girls’ shoes:
Ryan and Caitlin before the ceremony:
Caitlin’s father waits to usher her down the aisle:
Mark grabbed this great moment!
The stunning ceremony location:
Loved this great moment just after the ceremony:
Shortly before the reception we literally used 3:47 seconds to shoot these great couples portraits, but honestly… you don’t need much time with these two!
I loved the interaction of the colors and shapes of the mountain and tents.
The table names were all Presidents in honor of the venue’s historical ties:
A favorite from the first dance:
A few favorites from the toasts:
Caitlin and her father’s first dance was part singing and part dancing!
A few favorites from the party:
Caitlin’s parents…How cute are these two?
What a fantastic day to witness. Thanks you so much to the Kelly family for allowing me to be a part of it. Also, Thanks to Caitlin and Ryan for being such amazingly awesome clients! And last but certainly not least, special thanks to Mark Davidson and Amanda from Jeff Brouillet Films for being so awesome to work with as usual!
