What do you do when you have two families celebrating one marriage, but they live halfway around the world from each other? You celebrate twice! Bekey and Alex were married in South Korea a few weeks prior to this celebration. To continue their party with their American family and friends, they held a reception at the Boston Public Library. We met early to shoot some gorgeous portraits of the couple, as well as some with their bridal party. It’s always a pleasure to work in the BPL and it’s one of my favorite spots of all time.
I love the beams of sunlight that filter through the big windows over the main staircase.
Bekey and Alex wanted some shots with little nod to Annie Leibovitz and Vanity Fair.
When the guests arrived for cocktail hour, they were treated to the wedding film from their Korean ceremony a few weeks prior.
Their dinner was held in the bates room and the tables were decked out with fantastic coffee table books that represented interests of the couple, as well as the guests seated at that table.
There were a few toasts just before dinner:
Then guests adjourned into the Abbey Room for dancing:
At the end of the night, the guests lined the main staircase to wish the couple farewell.
