I first met Adrianne and Stephen in a coffee shop in Charlestown, where we had a chance to get to know each other and to learn more about the beautiful wedding they were planning at Newport’s New York Yacht Club. Several months later, the two were married on an absolutely perfect day in May down in Newport. Starting my summer season with their wedding was such a gift because they couldn’t have been any easier to work with and they certainly set the tone for what continues to be a wonderful summer. From the moment I arrived at the house to photograph the girls getting ready, I was welcomed in like a guest. Adrianne’s friends were all-star bridesmaids – and what can I say about Adrianne? She couldn’t have been any easier to photograph! I’m so excited to share a few of my favorite photos from the day.
Picking some of my favorite getting ready photos was a challenge because they were all so fun!
The girls got ready in a house that was not too far from the club. It had this great staircase in the main foyer and you’d usually catch the flower girls buzzing about on it.
Adrianne’s mom helps her get into her dress.
The radiant bride emerges from the house for the short ride to the church. And yes – she was smiling like this all day!

I love the vows. Love them. And I always get a good view cause I’ve got long lenses!
This look says so much to me about the connection these two have. It’s just such a fun moment!
The New York Yacht club sits on one of the most beautiful pieces of property in Newport, overlooking the harbor, the bridge, everything. The club prefers that I not show any images of the building, but you get a sense for the spectacular view and property. I don’t always show a ton of “formals” on the blog, but I thought this was a great shot of the guys and definitely gives you a sense for the property.
The stunning bride!
This little guy had the right idea!
Before dinner we snuck outside for a few shots on the lawn behind the club.
Check out the dress…. then check out the cake!
I had no idea that Adrianne and Stephen would be such good dancers, but their first dance was so fun to watch.
Right as dusk was setting in we snuck out for five minutes to get a few more shots in front of the harbor.
Quite possibly my favorite moment of the day, here Stephen asked his grandmother for a dance and this was her reaction.
The final sendoff!
Check out their slideshow!
Adrianne and Stephen- thank you so much for letting me share this day with you guys. I couldn’t have had any more fun if I tried. You both reminded me how lucky I am to have a job where I get to capture moments like these. Also – special thanks to James Federico who joined me for the day, as well as to Julie Park – the most unbelievably easy to work with events director at the club.
